Changquan Flying Dragon offers an exciting opportunity for both children and adults to develop martial arts skills and improve their fitness levels. The system has two paths within the syllabus: external and internal systems.
Changquan is an external form based on the use of Long Fist kung fu “Northern Style” forms, through classical movements in both long and short forms. There are solo and two-man forms, or sets, demonstrating both attack and defence. A range of weapons are also taught within the forms. Long Fist techniques include Chin na techniques and shuai jiao throws and takedowns.
Taijiquan is an internal form (Tao Lo) practiced in a soft and slow manner. Tui Shou (Push hands) is also practiced. All forms are taught slowly with attention to detail, repetition, and understanding. This is reinforced by practicing the forms' applications, free-sparring, and conditioning.
